Persian + Munchkin = Pedigreed MINUET/ NAPOLEON kittens

Designer kittens just in time for Christmas! Short legged babies ready to go home! Male and female gold and black tabbies, Luke and Leia are both standard ( short legged) Napoleon/ Minuets with a rare European bloodline! The parents are on our premises and the mother weighs about 5lbs and the father is about 6 lbs. They look bigger because of how thick their coat is. These kittens are expected to be about the same as long as they are fed healthy food and lead an active life. Carley's Cattery is a very small program and we NEVER use cages. All cats are PKD-1 negative and registered with T.I.C.A. Our 2 kittens available are the rare Gold and Black tabbies. Standard. They are 16 weeks old and they love each other! I prefer these two stay together and will give a discount if bought together. Both have been altered, have shots, and are vet checked. We do not ship! Due to several people in California wanting our kittens, we have lowered their price to help with airfare if someone wants to fly in and pick a baby up. Located by Nashville and will meet you within two hours distance.A Napoleon is a hybrid of a Persian Group cat and a Munchkin. They come in Standard, meaning they have short sized legs and Non-Standard, meaning they have normal sized legs. Napoleons are rare at this time but the number of breeders are growing quickly. The breed is basically in it's infancy. This is why you will see a big difference in the look from one breeder to another. The Persian group includes Persians (Doll Faced and Extreme), Exotics, and Himalayans. The Munchkin is basically a Domestic cat with short legs if it is a standard. Because there are so many looks included, the first generation of a Napoleon line creates a wide variety of looks. Then, as the generations go by, the breeder can choose to breed back to a Persian group cat or a Napoleon or even a Munchkin. The majority of breeders breed back to a Persian group cat or Napoleon. It can take several generations to get the desired look. Even then, it is up to the breeder to mate pairs to get the look they want. I personally like a cat that looks like a Persian. The father, Thunder, is a direct descendant of the first Blue Golden Napoleon litter! Thunder?s father was imported from Europe to bring not only a fresh bloodline to the breed but also the VERY rare color known as a blue golden. My bloodlines are heavily influenced by the Persian. This means my cats have a sturdy cobby body type, short muzzle with no break ( this means the nose protrudes enough to ensure good airways but is still very short), round eyes, round head, and wide set ears that are smaller than the average cat. I look for what I call the W smile. This is when the cat is relaxed, you can see a W shape smile of the muzzle. This will eliminate the grumpy look that some Persians have. What makes a Napoleon so great? I have a beautiful cat that looks alot like one of the most popular cats in the world, the Persian. The big difference is that the hair is much more manageable than a Persian, they don't have the breathing problems some Persians have, the eyes don't drain like many Persians, and by adding the Munchkin, there is no inbreeding which makes my Napoleons extremely healthy. I have also tested my cats for PKD-1 which is a disease that attacks a big part of the Persian population. The Persian is basically a laid back lovable lap cat. The Munchkins are a hearty, smart, active and are like kittens their whole life. The combination creates a cat like no other! Until you have one, you can't understand how wonderful Napoleons are! I honestly believe once the Napoleons ( nicknamed Naps by breeders) increase in numbers and availability, they will become the most desired cat everywhere! Can you tell I love them? LoL!The Standard Napoleons are unique because they have short legs like a dachshund dog. They can still jump and run around just like any cat! They do not have any health related problems due to the short legs like several short legged dog breeds. The Non- Standard Napoleons are just as great as the Standard! They can just jump a bit higher! My opinion is that the Non Standards make the greatest pets as they are beautiful like a Persian but have been improved upon! Don't get me wrong, I love Persians! I just love Napoleons more! I could go on forever about how wonderful Napoleons are but unless you meet one, you can't understand how incredible they are. They learn tricks quickly as kittens. The Standards tend to stand on their hind legs to look around like a meerkat or prairie dog. I hope I have given you an idea of how wonderful this breed is and feel free to contact me if you have questions! You can see the pictures on my Facebook page, Carley's Cattery
