Specialist-Communications. Extension and Outreach Admin - Public Relations in Nashville, TN

This position provides leadership and coordination for all communications, media productions and media relations for the College ofAgriculture, Human and Natural Sciences. Produces videos, audios, news releases and reports to promote and market the College's academicofferings, research accomplishments and extension activities/events to the public, our stakeholders, and the university. This positionrequires excellent graphics and layout design skills, audio/video production skills, written correspondence expertise and people skills. Coordinatesmedia coverage for special events, field days and college open houses. Manages and distributes details to keep faculty, staff, alumniand stakeholders informed about the College activities and programs. Secures, produces and archives videos, pictures, digital media andreports as needed for outstanding communication of College activities. Coordinates the creation and distribution of videos, news material,feature articles, reports and news releases (print, video, audio, electronic files) in the College. Provides graphic design, editing andquality control support for College communications, media relations and video productions (print, audio, video and display products).Coordinates and prepares Extension, teaching and research annual reports, quarterly reports and newsletters. Coordinates collegecommunications and marketing details with staff in the University's Public Relations office to distribute media stories locally,regionally and nationally. Trains college faculty and staff in the preparation of news releases, videos, extension and research publicationsand media stories. Networks with relevant industry media and publications for marketing college stories for specific targeted audiences.Performs other related duties as assigned.Master's degree in Agricultural Communications, Communications, Journalism, or relatedareas required. A min of 2 yrs of background in communications, public relations, video production or journalism. Background in allaspects of the development and production of brochures, reports, bulletins, and media releases. Proficient in microsoft word processing and desktoppublishing. Expertise to accurately edit written work using APA as well as other scientific style guides. Flexibility to accommodate a busyand challenging workplace environment. Expertise to work with staff in a professional manner in a variety of tasks. Expertise to communicateeffectively with staff, alumni and the public. Application Info Contact
