We are also recognized for our outstanding cardiac, oncology, orthopedic, rehabilitation and emergency services. ppThe TraumaManager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a cost-effective system of care for trauma patients and their families throughout the continuum of care. The Trauma Coordinator works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma medical director and other members of the health care team and the management staff. The Trauma Coordinator is self-directed and self-motivating, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the Chief Nursing Officer. ppThe TraumaManager is expected to provide leadership in the Clinical, Community, Communication, Managerial, and Educational areas of the Trauma Program. Assignments include, but are not limited to, the following areas of competencyppstronguClinicalustrongpulliCoordinates with physicians, nurses and other hospital staff to evaluate and address specific patient care issues.liliProvides and documents trauma nursing care to include all components of the nursing process in accordance with written clinical and administrative proceduresliliAssesses the needs for policies, procedures, protocols, supplies and equipment relating to the care of trauma patients in coordination with the Trauma Medical Director, hospital administration and clinicians to ensure maintenance of Level II Trauma certification.liliAssists the Trauma Medical Director in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a quality and process improvement plan that is multidisciplinary and focused on patient outcomes.liliServes as the coordinator of the identification, investigation, reporting and follow-up of incidents and quality issues throughout the program.
